ThEX Testimonials

From Massachusetts • Thank you, Thank you.... every little bit helps, this site is wonderful, we hope others will help, like you, it is greatly appreciated. God Bless •

From Alabama • I know many disabled veterans that are in the same situation that I am in. Who would have thought that one day your living life to the fullest then the next an IED blows up and everything changes. The past 2 years have been so hard for my family and myself. I would like to thank you on behalf of my family and the others that you have helped. I will try and get people to donate to your cause if I can. Again thank you very much for your help. •

From Senator Bruce Tarr • Massachusetts State Senator Bruce Tarr recently learned about ThEX. Here are his comments about it. Recently, I have had the opportunity to learn about a tremendous new concept known as "The Helping Exchange," which is also reffered to as ThEX. This web-based system was created to connect those with a particular financial need with those who might like to assist them with that need. ThEX facilitates peer-to-peer giving, and is remarkably efficient in that nearly 100% of a donated financial gift reaches the person who needs it. Administrative and operational expenses are minimal. Through this electronic medium those who are seeking to assist others can learn about the particular needs of someone in their community or someone from anywhere in the country or the world. You can learn more about ThEX by going on to www.TheHelpingExchange.com •

From Massachusetts • I'm very grateful that our paths crossed. I have a friend who is only 44 years of age and she is suffering from a rare form of cancer (Chondrosarcoma). Traditional chemo and radiation are relatively ineffective so she has to use alterntive medicines and supplements. The insurance companies are being extremely difficult as I'm sure you are all too aware. I just wanted to thank you for your creativity and sensitivity in helping your fellow man. •

From Massachusetts • Thank you very much for the gift. I don't know how I would have paid for my husband's co-payments for his chemotherapy medicine this month. It is comforting to know that there are people who care. You have a wonderful program. Please thank the giver for me. My husband and I are extremely grateful. •

From Massachusetts • ThEX recently made a presentation before the Manchester Community Center explaining the history of the idea, and how The Helping Exchange connects those in financial need with those who may be willing to help. Anthony Bullock, Manchester Community Center Board President was happy to endorse the project. He stated: “At the end of the day the most important thing we try to accomplish at the Manchester Community Center is helping our neighbors, and ThEX does just that!” •

From Texas • "I just wanted to send a thank you for having this site available for those of us who have nowhere else to turn. I signed up a few days ago and have already received some help from a wonderful giver. Thank you again so much." •

From Colorado • This is our first Needer from the military. She writes "Thank you so much. You're a blessing to us." ThEX is pleased to be available for all, especially our wounded service personnel. •

From Connecticut • "I am a needer and I just received a gift from a very kind and generous giver. I wanted to thank you for helping me. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Your generosity makes a big difference for me. God Bless." •

From Arkansas • "I received my first gift today. It blessed my heart and my family more than anyone will ever know. Just wanted to let you know that you are doing a wonderful thing for people in need. Keep up the amazing work!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart." •

From New York • "I am so very grateful for the financial assistance I received today. This is truly a wonderful blessing! Many thanks for your service!! And please if there’s a way to communicate with the Giver, tell him/her that I am extremely grateful!!" •

Welcome.

Whether you've come to Give, or post your Need, we're here to bring the two of you together.

What is ThEX?

ThEX is an electronic marketplace where any individual in financial need can meet privately with other individuals throughout the world who may be willing to offer financial help.

Register to ThEX
It's easy, just create your username and password.
That’s all there is to it.

We have just installed the new ThEX Blog. This facility is open to all Needers, Givers, and those who are just visiting the site. The Blog is not moderated so please be mindful of others as you create and post your article or comments to others’ articles. We encourage lively discussions on how ThEX can help those in need, and meet the needs of Givers as well. It’s also important to use the Blog to spread the word about ThEX. The more the site is known, the more folks will be helped. Click the “Blog” on the black banner above, and give it a try.

**************

ThEX was asked to create a discussion board so all Givers and Needers could communicate in a public place.  We thought it was a good idea so the FORuM was created.  You can access it right above here.  Just click, and post your thoughts.  We hope your open discussion will help The Helping Exchange meet more needs of both Givers and Needers.  And, your good ideas will be incorporated on the site.  Also, don't forget to tell others about ThEX so they can benefit from this unique marketplace.

*************

Because you asked, as of now there is no posting fee for needs up to $200. From $200 to $500 the posting fee is $15, and over $500 the posting fee is the original $25. We’ll monitor this for some time to determine if these tiers should be adjusted. If you have other ideas or advice, we ask that you share your thoughts with others, and post them on the FORuM.

ThEX was just contacted by the Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing, a Virginia organization that helps our soldiers--in so many ways--to get back on their feet.  DVCH will introduce ThEX to their contacts, and provide a link to ThEX on the DVCH site.  This will give our disabled veterans an additional source for financial help. Visit their site www.dvchvets.org to learn about the challenges they face, and the help they provide.

ThEX is pleased to report our working with Operation First Response, an organization that helps our wounded service members. Visit their site www.operationfirstresponse.org  to see the great work they are doing. OFR has put a link to ThEX on their site so that our service personnel in need of financial aid can benefit from The Helping Exchange.

Unbeknownst to ThEX, a Lafayette College student wrote a final exam paper on The Helping Exchange for his religion class. It’s an interesting read. Click here to access the paper.

ThEX considers it important to offer a marketplace where close to 100 percent of one’s gift actually gets to the one in need. With ThEX, Needers receive 97.1 percent of Giver’s donations. The 2.9 percent difference is the PayPal charge. If you agree with our objective, then consider supporting this site. This is totally voluntary, and we ask that your support of ThEX be capped at $5.00.
